El Shaddai

God reveals himself by name. God told Abram he was El Shaddai, the All-Sufficient and All-powerful One. God then gave Abram a new name: Abraham--father of multitudes. Abraham laughed because he was 99 years old, but then realized, if God was all-powerful, God could do whatever if wanted. Abraham then walked in faith and became the father of multitudes.
